// Who is this course for?
Afro hairdressing/styling is not a one size fits all technique, with products saturating the market it’s hard to know what will suit your own hair or that of your client. This course will teach students the skills and techniques to style their own hair and/or advance their skills in working with Afro textured hair.
// What will I learn during this course?
During this course you will master how to handle Afro textured hair, the science behind curly to Afro hair, learn what products work best on your hair and/or advise clients on what products work best with their hair type.
You will also have the choice of 1 or 2 optional techniques.
This course includes:
- Hair analysis and knowledge of Afro hair types
- Product knowledge of natural hair care/growth
- Advice on suitable hair styles and styling technique.
1 or 2 optional techniques from the following:
- Using heated appliances
- Braiding/cornrow/twist-out/natural curls/weave
- Daytime styles and/or special occasion styles
- Personal choice
// What can I do with this course?
Students can use the skills they learn to create hair styles on their own hair or professionally on clients.
// What courses can I progress onto?
If students wish to become a professional hairdresser, students can progress onto the Beginners Hair Cutting course to learn professional cutting skills, the Beginners Hair Colour course, Afro Hair Styling Course or our full NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing course to gain an international qualification.
