Hair perming has a long history within hairdressing and was one of the most popular hairdressing services available. In recent years it has come back into fashion as great looking curls are on the increase. This course will teach you the techniques of perming and neutralising, as well as the science behind this popular treatment. Students will put their skills into practice by working on live models throughout the course.
The course includes:
- Health, safety and hygiene
- Client consultation, including client and hair analysis
- Contra-indications to the treatment
- Tools, products and equipment
- Preparation and sectioning of the hair
- Effects of perming and neutralising on the hair structure
- Types of perming lotions and strengths
- Types of neutralisers
- Perm winding technique, including nine-section, staggered/brick and directional
- Perm application methods, development testing and removal
- Neutraliser application, development testing and removal
- Client aftercare and maintenance
- London Hair Academy certificate upon completion of the course.
Students are welcome to bring in a camera to take photos during this course.
